Yesterday I posed the question “when do you think you would want to go on the market?” If I were selling my house, I would put my house on the market in late February.
As you can see, the February (blue line) was the big listing month, March was the big contract month (red), then April and May’s green bars largely reflect those contracts written in March.
June is another big listing month, but the number of buyers writing offer slowed to a relative trickle.
Of course, we’re talking about a small sample statistically, so let’s look at Prince George’s County as a whole. It bears out that late February-early March is the best time to go on the market – most number of sales and most appreciation, too!
