Top 10 Low Cost, High Impact Improvements

I’ve always said that bright, clean and de-cluttered make a huge difference when marketing a home. Looks like I’m not alone in feeling that way.

HomeGain has published it’s 2011 survey of the top improvements that sellers can do themselves when selling their homes.

No surprise – Cleaning and de-cluttering take the top spot, with a 586% return on investment. Lightening and Brightening came in second. Again, no surprise – light and bright usually equal clean in the minds of most buyers. Dark and dim rooms look smaller, too.

Interestingly enough, these are all good ideas for just making your home more livable, even if you aren’t selling!
